FSMB first percussion blog opened!
Pardon me, but this first post will be addressed to the perc section with a serious note.

Firstly, the case of late-coming is not improving, and even getting worse. We all know that we do have a lot of instruments to carry before the start of every band practice. Hence we require the effort of every single one of us (NINE OF US), and not always depending on the few who are always early, or even the other sections to help us, which is being extremely unfair.
Just like Miss Lai said, they will only help us if we deserved the help. Why should they help us if our section is always less than half who are present to move the instruments? So all percussionists, please be considerate. Come 30 minutes earlier before band starts.

Secondly, I am sure we all know that we are not playing very well. Study the scores hard, make notes or even scribble on the scores itself to remind yourself every time you are playing. If you are not sure of any thing, ASK. Ask your seniors, ask your bandmates, ask Ms Chong.
Do not keep quiet until Ms Chong ask us to start playing.
Another thing is, since we could not bring home our instruments like any other sections, so the least we could do is bring home the drumsticks, practise your stickings, bring home your scores and study hard. If not, your playing every practice will sound as if you are still sight reading, which is just not acceptable.
Oh, bring home your scores, and rmb to bring them BACK every practice. -.-

Thirdly, we are not allowed to freely move about during practice. Other sections in the band do not have this privilege, so why should we have? Get a chair beside your instruments if you want to sit down, pay attention to Ms Chong's words, and always be prepared to play when Ms Chong ask us to. I do not want the same thing that happens ytd to repeat.
And please talk softly if you have to during band prac ._.

So that's all.
If we could accomplish all this, everyone will be happy, Ms Chong will be happy.
Pls do not disappoint Ms Chong again.
And be spared Ms Lai's lecture. =X

this music is LOVE.
